New This Year—Home Run Contest
Optional home run hitting contest, for men and women, takes place at Delco Park following Friday evening’s managers meeting.
- Each team may submit two free entries
- Additional entries: $5 in advance or $7 day of
contest (all money donated to
local charity)

Tournament Rules
- All players must be COF members and at least 15-years old.
- Entry deadline is July 5, 2008.
- All first games scheduled on Saturday, July
26, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Exact time decided at tournament draw during team managers meeting held Friday, July 25, 7:30 p.m. at Forester Hall. - Roster size up to individual team. Attach additional sheet if roster is more than fifteen players. Tournament T-shirts provided for a maximum fifteen players/coaches per team. Team managers must supply shirt sizes on entry or else take leftover shirts, regardless of size. If team wishes to order more than fifteen, shirts may be purchased for $7 each. Inform tournament committee at time of entry.
- A.S.A. rules apply except for special COF tournament rules./li>
- There will be three divisions: competitive, fraternal, and co-ed. All entry fees are $175 with $75 going to prize awards for top three teams. All prize awards announced at team managers meeting on Friday, July 25. All prize money awarded to sponsoring court.
- Only A.S.A. approved bats may be used.
- No metal spikes permitted.
- No alcohol permitted on tournament fields or in stands.
- Twelve-run rule after five innings.
- Teams may bat up to fifteen batters.
- All batters start with a one ball/one strike count with one courtesy fly with two strikes. All batters start with a two ball/two strike count for all innings started after 50 minutes.
- Co-ed Division must have at least five female players on defense with at least two infielders, two outfielders (including a fifth infielder if team chooses to play with three outfielders), and a pitcher or catcher. A female must follow each male batter. A male batter who is walked will advance to second base. With two outs, following walk of a male batter, the next female batter has the option to take a walk also.
- Three home run limit (over the fence) per team per game in Competitive Division.One home run rule limit (over the fence) per team per game in Fraternal and Co-ed Divisions.
- Mats will be sued to call balls and strikes.
- A 47 core softball will be used.
- Top team from last year’s Fraternal Division
must move up to Competitive Division level for this year’s
tournament, but may move back down to Fraternal Division in future
years. This will occur if team is returning six or more players.
Courtesy runner may be used once per inning in Fraternal and Co-ed Divisions. Courtesy runner will be the played who made the previous out. No courtesy runner will be allowed in Competitive Division.
