Reimbursement Program FAQs

As with any new program, occasional questions crop up regarding guidelines and procedures. The following Q & A addresses recent inquiries about the Local Court Reimbursement Program.

Q: Expenses for our court's award dinner came in more than what's left in our budget. Will we still be reimbursed the total amount?

A: No, only up to the amount left in your court's 2007 budget. For example: if your court's July 1, 2007 - December 31, 2007 budget is $600:

Date Expense Reimbursement Balance
7/1     $600
7/15 $200 Picnic $200 $400
8/11 $150 Pizza party $150 $250
10/7 $400 Award dinner $250 -0-*

* 2007 budget depleted. Remaining $150 expenses must be covered by court treasury.

Q: Our court is not planning any more activities this year but there is still money in our budget. Can we carry it over into 2008?
A: No. Money not used by December 31, 2007, will not be carried over.

Q: When will we receive our 2008 budget?
A: Courts will be notified some time in mid-January. Budget amount is based on December 31, 2007, membership count and calculated at $2.60 per juvenile and adult member.

Q: Can we request reimbursement for 2008 expenses before receiving our budget notification?
A: Absolutely. Your court's budget runs from January 1, 2008, through December 31, 2008, and may be used any time within the calendar year.

Q: Are court officer salaries reimbursable?
